European Medals!
Kempston Hammers Sports & Social Club
In September 2019 our ladies tug of war team - Bedford Ladies - competed in the European Championships held at Castlebar, Ireland.
Here they competed in 2 weight classes in the Open Club championships - the 5020kg and the 560kg. The performed superbly and won 2 very creditable bronze medals.
On the thrid day of the championships they again competed in the ladies 520kg event but this team representing England pulling strongly and beating off a very strong team from the Netherlands to win another bronze.
Our congratulations to the team and the coach for a magnificent performance.
