ABOUT US
We are back !
Wonderful to see the club coming back to life again after the Covid lockdown. Our sports are all back - bowls, cricket, football, rugby and tug of war enjoying themselves. A lot of hard work has gone in from numerous volunteers to prepare the pitches, new facilities and equipment.
Our teams are looking for new members so feel free to pop along and introduce yourselves to them. Get out in the sunshine, stretch those muscles and shake off the Lockdown Blues with some exercise, like-minded people and a nice drink or two :)
Our members bar reopens on May the 17th with the relevant Covid restrictions in place and Emma and her team are looking forward to welcoming our members back in for a relaxing drink.
We look forward to seeing you!
UPDATE DECEMBER 2020
It is, with understandable regret, that we, along with you and millions of others, have moved into Tier 4 restrictions and that activity at KHSSC continues to be in hibernation. Thank you for your support during this time and we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2020
Once again we are closed due to Covid19 regulations, this time for just 4 weeks, hopefully. Again we are taking the time to deep clean and minimise the effect on our business, which has been dramatic. Along with many, many other businesses we are looking forward to being able to return to "the new normal" or maybe better if the Covid19 vaccine is a success.
We look forward to welcoming our members back in December! Stay safe.
UPDATE JULY 2020
Due to Covid19 regulations we closed our doors on the 20th of March 2020 during which time we were hard at work minimising the effect of the closure on our business. We are glad to report that we are now re-open but in accordance with government guidelines which means a somewhat different experience for us all but something we have grown accustomed to in life in general during this period.
The bar is open, the regular classes are not yet but we are very happy to see the sporting sections starting up again with bowls, cricket, rugby and tug of war all using our facilities once again but strictly in accordance with their relevant sport governing bodies guidelines.
Whilst the club was closed the grass still grew, high winds felled trees, clearing up after unauthorised dog walkers leaving "deposits" on the field etc. etc. as well as the facilities needed maintaining and thanks to a small dedicated team we have kept everything in order. There still is a lot to do and we are working on our continuous improvement programme to provide a good, welcoming sporting, social and community based environment for our members.
